The Otrada river-going
catamaran yacht (houseboat) (project ST24HB) was designed
by Sea Tech Ltd. to the order of Finsudprom company (Miscow).
The parent yacht was launched in August 2008 at Yaroslavl
Shipyard.
Otrada
is a novel class of reiverine yachts intended both for permanent
dwelling and for corporate parties, business meetings, touring
or riverside family vacations. Actually, this is a small motor
vessel (up to 12 persons) comfortable for river and lake
cruises. Because of shallow draught, the vessel can pass
picturesque tributaries unpassable for most other motor ships.
Prior to project development, extensive studies had been carried
out on foreign experience in constructing various-type
houseboats, peculiarities of Russian markets, future touristic
routes and navigability of major and minor Russian rivers.
Besides, thorough styling design work was done to obtain unique
eye-catching appearance and best planning solutions to be
distinct from other Russian and foreign craft. To resemble an
ancient side-wheeler, "retro-styling" was chosen: the lounge
round-headed windows are shaped like paddle wheels.
In 2011, the second (modified) vessel of Otrada family –
Bylina river motor yacht (project ST24M2, Sea Tech's design of 2009)
was launched at Yaroslavl Shipyard.
Launched in 2012 was Zabava
catamaran – the second ST24M2 project vessel.
