The Project 02781 buoy tender was developed by Sea
Tech for multi-role maritime operations. Its primary missions
include:
- AtoN Support: Transportation, deployment, and maintenance of
floating Aids to Navigation (specifically S-3 class sea buoys) in
the waters of Arkhangelsk, Onega, Mezen, and other White Sea ports.
- Hydrographic Surveys: Seabed surveying and bottom inspection.
- Towing: Towing operations for vessels and floating structures.
- Logistics: Transportation of up to 10 tons of deck cargo.
- Pilotage: Delivery of pilots to vessels.
Design Features
This single-deck, twin-screw self-propelled vessel features an aft
working deck and a cargo crane. Designed for year-round operation in
ice-free seas and light broken ice conditions, it stands out from
its predecessors with improved habitability and full compliance with
modern maritime regulations.
The lead ship, Kapitan Shershnev (home port: Arkhangelsk), was
launched in St. Petersburg in June 2016.
Versatile Platform
The Project 02781 design serves as a universal platform adaptable
for various specialized configurations, including hydrographic
survey, diving support, towing, and supply vessel roles.
