Key
Features of Base Project E16
The
defining characteristic of Base Project E16 is its wide beam,
which provides spacious and comfortable living quarters for a
relatively compact vessel, while ensuring excellent stability.
Carefully engineered hull lines (validated through model basin
testing) deliver superior propulsion and seakeeping performance,
combined with a simple and cost-effective hull plating design.
Manufacturing
Technology
The
construction process is optimized for assembly without the need for
complex shipbuilding equipment. The design maximizes the use of
components cut from sheet metal via automated plasma cutting.
Tolerances and manual fitting are kept to a minimum. To achieve a
high-quality surface finish, the primary requirement is strict
adherence to the assembly sequence and welding procedures.
The
"Kit Boat" Concept
Inspired
by American design philosophy—specifically the concept of a
structure without traditional profile sections—Sea Tech developed a
series of projects intended for self-construction (kit boats), where
every part is CNC plasma-cut. This approach led to the adoption of
the E16 as the base project for a family of low-speed steel yachts
of similar dimensions, including Atlas-17, Atlas-17M,
Boatswain,
and Lotos-17. The latter is available in steel, aluminum, or
composite (aluminum-GRP) configurations. |
