Small fishing vessels for coastal fishing are one of the most
important areas of Sea Tech design.
The MRT19 project is the result of the
development of the MPT-K Rossbel trawler built in
2001 at the Chkalovskaya shipyard (rus).
The chief designer of the project is A. Bondarenko about the
vessel:
"MPT-K is a 15-meter vessel, which was conceived as an
alternative to small fishing boats of the BMP type. New domestic
equipment was developed for the MPT-K project: an anchor winch,
a steering machine, a trawl winch, a
switchboard for signal lights, a fire and
emergency alarm system. Due to its small
size, the complexity of designing the MPT-K exceeded the
complexity and labor intensity of designing a "regular" (30-50
m) fishing vessel.
In the spring of 2002, the MRT-K trawler set out on its first
fishing voyages. During the tests near Gelendzhik, we were able
to compare the MRT-K with other fishing vessels and hear the
opinions of fishermen. Despite its tiny size, the MRT-K could
operate in any weather and still observe the fish and trawl
thanks to a wireless probe coupled with a fishing echo sounder."
