In the early 2000s, Dutch customers frequently
contracted Russian shipyards for hull construction, with final
outfitting and completion taking place in the Netherlands.
The hull of this river-sea vessel (Hull No.
938, LxBxT=110x11.4x3.5 m) is unique as one of the first in Russia to be fully
designed using 'paperless' technology and 3D mathematical modeling
of hull surfaces and structures. In the industry press of the early
2000s, this experience was highlighted as a landmark success for the
first implementation of
Sea Solution and
Sea Solid systems for export contracts.
The professional community of that time linked this technological
breakthrough directly to the Nizhny Novgorod school of design — the
Sea Tech team and its proprietary software (authored by A.V.
Aleksanov and E. Kirkemo).
