Houseboat Layout Principles

International experience shows that houseboat designs are typically highly versatile, meaning that a single superstructure volume can accommodate various internal layouts tailored to the specific owner's requirements.

For the flagship Elan, two potential layout options were considered according to the Customer's wishes. In both variants, the superstructure is functionally divided into three parts. The helm station is located by the windshield, while the remaining space in the bow is occupied by a salon with a galley and lounge area. The cabins are situated in the midship section of the superstructure. The stern houses a head combined with a shower stall. An open sun deck is located on the roof of the superstructure.

Option 1 features one private cabin with a double bed and a children's cabin, which can be partitioned off from the large salon using sliding screens. In the children's cabin, one berth is provided on a sofa, and another on a fold-down Pullman bed above it. An additional berth can be set up on the salon sofa. Option 1 also allows for daytime operation with an increased passenger capacity of up to 12 people. Passengers are accommodated within the superstructure and provided with seating.

Option 2 offers two separate, identical cabins with double beds, a small salon with 5 seats, and the option to set up one berth on the sofa.

The vessel's structural and strength configuration allows for a free layout of the living quarters according to the specific customer's requirements. For the same reason, the helm station is designed as a self-contained unit that can be installed on either the port or starboard side.
